WHAT TO EXPECT

A client's speech and language skills will be initially assessed to determine the difficulties they experience which are affecting their communication.

Assessment may take one or a number of sessions depending on the complexity of the clients difficulties. During this time the client, their family and the treating speech pathologist will discuss the client's goals for treatment.

Following the assessment, the speech pathologists, client and family will come up with a plan for treatment. The treatment plan could include weekly intervention sessions, fortnightly sessions, a home program or ongoing monitoring. All treatment sessions will include education and training with further activities suggested for self-management in between treatment.
